Morning comes early

Morning comes early in this sunrise picture of a beach with an orange sunrise

I’m a pretty good sleeper, until springtime… Morning comes early in late May and June, the birds are awake and chatty, and the sun shines right onto my pillow. It seems the fish are having a similar experience.

The past week or so it’s been an early morning bite. I gotta admit, I’ve mostly missed it. Wind, tide, and fish are always that factors that determine start times for my trips.

Last week’s low tides were some of the lowest I’ve ever witnessed. Not a great time to try and fish as there is virtually no water in the harbor.

Morning comes early

Morning comes early, and so do the low tides. Channel Rock 2 or more feet out of the water

The picture above is of “channel rock”. This rock remains underwater during most low tides. Last week’s tides were -2.6 ft.. Very unusual!

Back to the fish… I guess I’m just hoping that this weeks tides bring them into the harbor.

And, make those early mornings are worth it.
